Oxford, AL – The City of Oxford is preparing for a full day of community celebration at the annual Freedom Festival on Friday, July 4, 2025, at Oxford Lake Park. The family-friendly event will feature a variety of activities, entertainment, and patriotic tributes throughout the day, culminating in a fireworks show at 9:00 p.m.
The day will begin at 8:00 a.m. with the Around the Lake Ramble, a walking event designed for senior adults. Participants are invited to walk laps around the lake and will receive ribbons for their efforts.
At 8:30 a.m., parade registration and line-up will take place in the baseball parking lot, while the Cheaha Winds Community Band begins performing in Liberty Park. The parade starts at 9:00 a.m., inviting children to walk or ride in non-motorized vehicles down McCullars Lane. Helmets are required for all riders, and antique cars are encouraged to participate.
The Opening Ceremonies are scheduled for 9:15 a.m. outside the Civic Center at Liberty Park. Following this, a variety of events will unfold, including:

Petting Zoo near the covered bridge

Tricycle and Bicycle Races at Liberty Park (helmets required)

Pet Show near the swimming pool

Carnival Games from 9:45 to 11:30 a.m. inside the gymnasium

Oxford Pool open from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with races beginning at 1:00 p.m. (admission: $2)
Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy games, prizes, food vendors, antique cars, and entertainment, including a clown performance. The Cheaha Winds Community Band will return to perform from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. in Liberty Park.
The festival concludes with a fireworks show at 9:00 p.m., promising a vibrant display to cap off the Fourth of July celebration.
