Oxford, AL – The Oxford Parks and Recreation Department officially opened its newest recreational facility, the Oxford Jump Track, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony held on Thursday, June 26, 2025. The event drew numerous cycling enthusiasts and community members eager to see the track in action.
Located at the Oxford Lake and Civic Center complex on Recreation Drive, the new jump track features three distinct lines—beginner, intermediate, and expert—equipped with a variety of rollers, berms, and tabletops. The track is specifically designed for riders to use momentum through body movement rather than pedaling or pushing.
Oxford Parks and Recreation Director Don Hudson, joined by Mayor Alton Craft and members of the city council, expressed appreciation to all those involved in the planning and construction of the facility. The Oxford Mountain Bike Foundation and the Oxford High School mountain bike team, who played a key role in advocating for the track, were among the first to try out the new jumps after the ribbon was cut.
The facility is now open to the public from sunrise to sunset. Riders are encouraged to wear appropriate protective gear and follow posted safety guidelines.
