Jailyn Ford pitched a complete-game, four-hit shutout with eight strikeouts, and the USSSA Pride ended the Smash It Sports Vipers’ two-game winning streak with a 2-0 victory in Sunday’s opener of a three-game series.

The Vipers (4-13) got strong pitching from Amber Fiser and Gianna Mancha. Fiser worked the first 3 2/3 innings, allowing six hits, two walks and two earned runs with three strikeouts. Mancha allowed no hits, walks or runs in 2 1/3 innings of relief.

Suzy Brookshire, Mary Iakopo, Makena Smith and Chelsea Gonzales each had a hit for the Vipers, who left seven runners on base.
