Vipers find power

Oklahoma City, OK – Wilmes, O’Neal homer, and Fiser pitches another gem as Oxford’s Smash It Sports Vipers win at Oklahoma City Spark

 

Brooke Wilmes and Raina O’Neal homered, and Amber Fiser made six runs in the first two innings stand up as Oxford’s Smash It Sports Vipers beat the Oklahoma City Spark 6-2 on the road Tuesday.

The Vipers improved to 7-18 headed into Wednesday’s third game of the series. They’ll return home to begin a three-game series with the Texas Smoke on Friday.

Wilmes hit a three-run home run to key the Vipers’ four-run first inning Tuesday, and O’Neal followed with a solo shot.

Suzy Brookshire drove in another run with a sacrifice fly in the second, and Jenna Kean scored on a double steal.

Karly Heath went 2-for-4 with a stolen base, and Mikayla Allee went 2-for-3 with a run.

Fiser allowed three hits, a walk and an earned run and struck out three batters over 5 1/3 innings for her fourth win of the season. Gianna Mancha allowed one hit and one earned run in 1 2/3 innings of relief.
