Sierra Hyland pitched a complete-game, four-hit shutout with five strikeouts, and Oxford’s Smash It Sports Vipers made it three wins in four games with a 4-0 victory over the USSSA Pride on Monday.
The Vipers improved to 5-13 and hope to make it two series victories in a row in Tuesday’s third game.
Karly Heath led the Vipers’ offense Monday, going 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs. She also scored a run.
Alissa Dalton went 1-for-3 with an RBI and two runs and a stolen base, and Raina O’Neal went 2-for-2 with a walk. Tatyana Forbes stole two bases.
