Oxford, AL – The City of Oxford is proud to welcome Professor Mohamad Eloubeidi, MD. Oxford Mayor Alton Craft and other community and city leaders were excited to host a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Eloubeidi Gastroenterology and Associates earlier this week. During the ceremony, Mayor Craft emphasized the partnership between the city and Dr. Eloubeidi. “Here in the city of Oxford, it is all about the relationships we have with our businesses and their employees. We are here to help you with whatever it is that you need so your focus stays on serving your patients with the passion you have shown for them,” said Craft.
Dr. Eloubeidi also addressed the crowd of local leaders, his staff, and patients, as well as other RMC medical professionals. “We are excited to be here in Oxford at a new location that provides us the space we need to accommodate our patients. This practice has dramatically grown over the years, and I want to thank my wife and daughter, along with all of you here today for making that happen,” said Eloubeidi.
Dr. Eloubeidi is a gastroenterologist that provides digestive health care that includes disorders of the GI Tract, liver disease, and pancreas and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Regional Medical Center and The Surgery Center of Oxford, AL. He received his medical degree from American University of Beirut Faculty of Medicine with Distinction and has been in practice for more than 20 years.
Dr. Eloubeidi completed his residency at Duke University Hospital in Internal Medicine from 1993-1996, his fellowship in Gastroenterology at Duke University Hospital from 1996-1999, and his fellowship in Endoscopic Ultrasound and Related Technologies from 1999-2000 at the Medical University of South Carolina College of Medicine. Dr. Eloubeidi served on the University of Alabama in Birmingham faculty and as a Full Professor at the American University of Beirut before relocating his practice to Calhoun County. Dr. Eloubeidi is interested in the screening and prevention of cancers of the digestive tract, such as colon and pancreas cancer, in addition to treating benign conditions of the GI tract, such as pancreatitis and gallbladder diseases. He is currently the only advanced endoscopist in the area with expertise in endoscopic ultrasound and endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration, which is used to diagnose and stage cancers of the GI tract and lungs. Dr. Eloubeidi has served on many national and international committees and associations, including the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American College of Gastroenterology. He currently serves as Alabama’s Governor for the American College of Gastroenterology and is the vice-president of the Alabama Gastroenterological Association.
