Oxford’s Festival of Lights Opens Friday

FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS BEGINS YEAR FOUR AT OXFORD’S CHOCCOLOCCO PARK

Oxford, AL – The City of Oxford proudly partners with First Bank of Alabama to bring residents and visitors an unforgettable holiday experience.

Beginning Nov. 18, Choccolocco Park in Oxford, AL will transform into a magical winter wonderland for the fourth holiday season by bringing Festival of Lights back to life once again. With the support of First Bank of Alabama as the event’s title sponsor, Festival of Lights will bring residents and visitors from near and far to the illuminated drive-thru light show that includes Santa’s Village.

Bear and Sons

Festival of Lights is the largest holiday drive-thru light display in the region. In addition to over one million lights in a mile-long route, the 2022 Festival of Lights also features Santa’s Village where families can enjoy pictures with Santa, outdoor skating, inflatables, food-vendors, holiday movies, slides, a giant maze, apple cider, a special chance to write letters to Santa, and more.

“We are both honored and pleased to be a part of such an impactful event,” says Chad Jones, First Bank of Alabama President and CEO. “Christmas is a time of year where we focus on giving. As we step into the beautifully decorated lights, may it remind us all of the true reason for the season. The world was given a gift and giving is a great way to celebrate Christmas. Reinvesting in our communities is who we are as a community bank. Giving- for the most wonderful time of the year.”

City of Oxford Mayor Alton Craft looks forward to hosting residents and visitors at Choccolocco Park. “I can’t wait for everyone to experience Oxford’s Festival of Lights whether it’s their first or fortieth trip. Our staff does a remarkable job transforming Choccolocco Park into a magical space where people can create joyous memories with one another. On behalf of the city council and our staff, we invite you to come and experience the Festival of Lights for yourself at Choccolocco Park,” says Craft.

“We have been very busy creating an unforgettable holiday experience for all ages. For many, spending quality time with family and friends creating new memories is the highlight of each holiday season. Making space available for residents and visitors alike to do just that is what Festival of Lights is all about.” -Lorie Denton, spokeswoman, city of Oxford
