Oxford’s Festival of Lights Returns Brighter Than Ever for 2024 Holiday Season

Oxford Festival of Lights

Oxford, AL – The holiday spirit is set to shine brighter than ever at Choccolocco Park in Oxford as the 2024 Festival of Lights begins November 22, running through Christmas Eve. With over 40 acres illuminated and nearly 2.5 million lights, this year’s festival promises an enchanting experience for all.

Following a record-breaking attendance of over 40,000 visitors in 2023, the Festival of Lights has solidified itself as a premier holiday destination. Madison Gardner, Oxford’s special events and sponsorship coordinator, shared her excitement for the upcoming festivities.

“We’ve added new displays to our one-mile, drive-through light show, increasing the magic with even more lights,” Gardner said.

Beyond the dazzling lights, Santa’s Village will host a flurry of activities. Visitors can enjoy weekend snowfalls, a newly designed Santa’s house, and an updated backdrop for cherished holiday photos. The village will also feature a general store offering exclusive merchandise, including new shirts, coffee mugs, and toys.

Food lovers can look forward to an array of delicious holiday treats from vendors and the festival’s unique concessions. Visitors can also skate under the twinkling lights or take a walking tour of the village to fully immerse themselves in the festive atmosphere.

Special recognition was given to sponsors who make the Festival of Lights possible, particularly First Bank of Alabama, the festival’s main sponsor for three years running. Big Time Entertainment, a new sponsor, is adding excitement by offering free $10 game gift cards to visitors entering Santa’s Village while supplies last.

Mayor Alton Craft expressed the festival’s importance to the community. “Spending time with family and friends and creating new memories is the highlight of each holiday season,” he said. “Creating an event for residents and visitors alike to do just that is what ‘Festival of Lights’ is all about.”
