At 10:15 this morning The Jacksonville Police and Fire Department were dispatched to a pedestrian struck by a vehicle crash on Mountain Street and Madison Ave.
Preliminary reports indicate that a man approximately 50 years old exited the sidewalk and walked into the westbound traffic lane where he was initially struck. The vehicle attempted to stop and subsequently ran the pedestrian over.
The driver came to a stop and immediately rendered aid as 911 was contacted. Fire rescue arrived on scene and stabilized the pedestrian where he was then transported to Anniston RMC without life threatening injuries.
