Piedmont, AL –  The Piedmont Police Department and Piedmont Rescue responded Monday to a call on Bramlet Road regarding a deceased individual found beneath a vehicle.

According to Chief Nathan Johnson, who spoke with the Calhoun Journal, officers identified the deceased as 51-year-old Steven Kyle Satterfield of Piedmont. Initial observations indicate that Mr. Satterfield sustained injuries from his hogs, which had escaped their enclosure. Authorities believe he sought refuge under his vehicle, where he ultimately passed away.

Chief Johnson emphasized that the case remains under investigation and that an autopsy is pending to confirm the exact cause of death. He urged the public to avoid speculation and misinformation, stating that unverified rumors do not assist the investigation or help the grieving family.

“The Piedmont Police Department extends our condolences to the friends and family of Mr. Satterfield,” Johnson said. “At this time, we ask that people respect the process and refrain from spreading unconfirmed details. Until the autopsy is complete, no additional information is available.”

Authorities will provide further updates as the investigation continues.
