Piedmont, AL – Chief Johnson, Chief of Police at the Piedmont Police Department, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who. This prestigious recognition is given to individuals who have demonstrated significant accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in their field.

Chief Johnson’s career in public service and public safety spans nearly two decades, during which he has shown unwavering dedication to his community. His tenure as chief of police, which began in 2021, has been marked by notable improvements within the department, particularly in its interactions with the public and overall reputation. His leadership has been pivotal in fostering a positive transformation within the community, with a strong emphasis on community policing. This practice, which involves building personal connections with community members, is a cornerstone of Chief Johnson’s approach to law enforcement.

Chief Johnson’s journey in law enforcement began as a patrol officer. His frontline experience laid the foundation for his rise through the ranks, including roles as investigating officer, shift sergeant, and a significant tenure as a canine officer. During his time as a canine officer, he formed a strong bond with his canine partner, making substantial contributions to the department.

In addition to his practical experience, Chief Johnson has a solid educational background. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Jacksonville State University in 2018 and holds certifications from the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine’s Canine Performance Sciences (2011) and the Northeast Alabama Law Enforcement Academy (2006).

Chief Johnson is a member of the Alabama Association of Chiefs of Police and is recognized as an expert in public service and public safety across Alabama. He attributes his success to his empathy for others and his commitment to helping people overcome challenges and improve their lives.

Outside of his professional life, Chief Johnson enjoys woodworking in his free time and he is an active community volunteer and a devoted family man with a wife and three children whom is is very proud.

Looking forward, Chief Johnson envisions continued growth for the Piedmont Police Department. He believes a strong police department is crucial to the development and prosperity of the city, and he hopes these efforts will attract businesses and contribute to the city’s growth, ensuring a brighter future for all residents.
