Piedmont Police Department Releases January 2026 Patrol Activity Report

PIEDMONT, AL — The Piedmont Police Department has released its patrol activity report for January 2026, providing the community with a detailed overview of law enforcement activity throughout the month.

According to the department, officers responded to 1,763 dispatch calls received, which resulted in 329 calls for service. During that time, officers completed 93 incident reports, made 42 misdemeanor arrests, and 6 felony arrests.

In addition to responding to dispatched calls, officers conducted 710 officer-initiated contacts, reflecting proactive policing efforts across the city. The department also performed 183 extra patrols and district checks, aimed at maintaining visibility and addressing specific community concerns.

Traffic enforcement remained part of monthly operations, with 74 traffic citations issued in January. Officers collectively patrolled 7,574 miles during the month.

In a statement accompanying the report, the department expressed appreciation for its officers’ “commitment, professionalism, and steady presence” while serving the City of Piedmont. Officials noted that this updated reporting format is intended to better align with current social media requirements and present information in a clear, easy-to-understand way for residents.

The department stated that monthly reports will continue to provide transparency and offer a snapshot of ongoing efforts to protect and serve the community day and night.
