Piedmont Police Execute Drug Search Warrant – Drugs and Guns Seized

On January 27, 2022, at approximately 8:30 am the Piedmont Police Department with the assistance of the 7th Major Crimes Unit and the Anniston Police SRT, executed a search warrant seeking narcotics and other criminal evidence on Burns Street in Piedmont. After the Anniston SRT gained entry into the residence investigators were able to conduct a thorough search. Located on the premises were approximately three pounds of suspected marijuana, an assortment of drug paraphernalia (pipes, used syringes, scales, and other items). Also located and seized were a shotgun, firearm parts, and unidentified substances.

Taken into custody during the warrant execution were Brian Dutton, 49, Connie Dutton, 46, Lindsey Dutton, 30, and Jimmy Austin, 51. Each were charged with Trafficking Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia x4. Chief Nathan Johnson also advised that there may be further charges when results from the crime lab return. The suspects were transported to the Piedmont Police Department and then transferred to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office Jail.
