Piedmont, AL – The countdown to 2025 in Piedmont is getting a unique twist as the city prepares for its 4th Annual Squirrel Drop, an event hosted by the Piedmont Arts & Entertainment Committee. Taking place on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2024, the festivities will kick off at 10 p.m. at the gazebo on E. Ladiga Street, downtown Piedmont.

This year’s event will honor the Piedmont Parks & Recreation Department, celebrating its contributions to the community. Attendees can expect an evening of family-friendly entertainment, including music, games, giveaways, and a free non-alcoholic sparkling cider toast at midnight.

The highlight of the night, the Squirrel Drop, is a Piedmont tradition that brings the community together to welcome the New Year with joy and excitement. The unique celebration at the intersection of Center and Ladiga Streets has become a hallmark event, combining fun activities with local pride.

Organizers encourage residents and visitors to join in the festivities, which promise something for everyone. The Piedmont Arts & Entertainment Committee hopes to see the community come out in full force to make this year’s Squirrel Drop the most memorable one yet.

So, grab your friends and family, bundle up, and head downtown to ring in 2025 Piedmont-style!
