Pink Heals Eastern Alabama Plans Childhood Cancer Awareness Ride and Annual 5K

Pink Heals Eastern Alabama 6th Annual

Jacksonville and Oxford, AL – Pink Heals Eastern Alabama will host two upcoming events aimed at raising awareness and showing support for children and families affected by cancer.

The first event, the Knock Out Childhood Cancer Awareness Ride, will take place Saturday, Aug. 29, beginning at 10 a.m. The free ride will travel from Jacksonville to Heflin and is being held to help kick off Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Organizers said the ride is intended to show support for children battling cancer and raise awareness of childhood cancer throughout the community.

One week later, Pink Heals Eastern Alabama will host its 6th Annual Cancer…Runaway 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, Sept. 5, at Choccolocco Park in Oxford.

Registration for the 5K will begin at 7 a.m., with the race starting at 8 a.m.

Pre-registration is available through RunSignup through Sept. 3 for $25, plus a small convenience fee. Registration on the day of the event will be $35. Participants will receive an event shirt while supplies last, and organizers encourage those planning to participate to register early.

Both events are organized by Pink Heals Eastern Alabama, a local organization that provides support to individuals and families affected by cancer while promoting cancer awareness throughout the region.
