Calhoun County, AL – Perry, Alexander lead Oxford boys to victory over Woodlawn. Allen leads way as Weaver overcomes big game by Lincoln’s Kelley. Cleburne County victorious in Faith Christian tourney. Austin, Jarrett power Spring Garden girls in Champions tourney.

 

PLAINVIEW — Marcus Perry hit three 3-pointers en route to a game-high 19 points, and Oxford’s boys beat Woodlawn 66-56 Monday in the Heritage Classic.

The Yellow Jackets also got 18 points from Jaylen Alexander, who hit two 3-pointers.

Jayden Lewis added 10 points as Oxford improved to 5-0.

WEAVER 86, LINCOLN 76: Playing in Lincoln’s Thanksgiving tournament, KeShawn Allen scored a team-high 23 points to lead Weaver to victory.

Harper Williams added 17 points, D.J. Marbury 15 and Phoxton Benjamin 13.

The Bearcats needed lots of scoring to overcome a 32-point showing by Lincoln’s Brayden Kelley, who hit eight 3-pointers. Tellas Swain added 13.

CLEBURNE COUNTY 69, CEDAR BLUFF 62: Playing in Faith Christian’s Thanksgiving tournament, Cleburne County got big performances from Cade Shubert and Lyric Ware. Shubert led the way with 23 points, and Ware scored 22.

The Tigers also got 15 points from Cavin Bates.

PLAINVIEW 79, JACKSONVILLE 66: Aaron Nixon led four Jacksonville players in double figures with 15 points. Mason Scoggins added 13, Kamouri Harmon 12 and I’King Elder 11.

Girls

SPRING GARDEN 65, CLAY-CHALKVILLE 29: Playing in the Champions Thanksgiving Tournament, Ace Austin scored 28 points with nine rebounds and five assists to lead Spring Garden to victory.

Maggie Jarrett added 17 points and eight rebounds, and Montana Highfield matched nine points with 11 rebounds. Olivia Law had eight points and six boards.

The Panthers opened the tournament Saturday with a 61-29 victory over Piedmont. Austin scored 29 points, Laci Jo McMurry 12 and Jarrett nine to go with 12 rebounds, six assists and three steals.

RANBURNE 45, GASTON 16: Aubrey Anglin hit three 3-pointers and led Ranburne with 10 points, and Brylee Bailey added eight points.

PLAINVIEW 58, JACKSONVILLE 21: Jacksonville’s Alexis Phillips scored 10 points to go with five rebounds and two steals.
