SOUTHSIDE — Grace Anne Rose scored 25 points and fetched 10 rebounds, and Southside’s girls beat visiting Cherokee County 59-47 on Friday.

—Mary Hayes Johnson: 17 points (three 3-pointers).

SPRING GARDEN 63, OXFORD 50: Ace Austin hit two 3-pointers while scoring 27 points. She also pulled down 11 rebounds and dished out seven assists to lead Spring Garden to victory at Oxford.

—Maggie Jarrett: 15 points (three 3-pointers).
—Olivia Law: nine rebounds.

PIEDMONT 39, HOKES BLUFF 22: Ava Pope led Piedmont (8-5) to a victory in the Gaston Christmas Tournament with nine points.

—Carson Young: six points (one 3-pointer).
—Jenna Duke: six points (one 3-pointer).

Hokes Bluff’s top performers:

—Addison Simmons: 10 points.

PELL CITY 66, ANNISTON 63: A’Kayla Perry hit seven 3-pointers en route to 23 points, but Anniston fell to 14-2 on the season. The Bulldogs have lost two in a row, both against Class 6A competition, after starting 14-0.

PIEDMONT 70, CLEVELAND 29: Dylan Oliver hit three 3-pointers on the way to a team-high 16 points, and Piedmont (7-4) finished the Gaston Christmas Tournament with a victory.

SAKS — Anthony Bothwell led four Saks players in double figures with 23 points, and Saks held off Donoho 69-65 in double overtime Thursday.

Donoho rallied from a 52-43 deficit with two minutes left in regulation to force overtime. Jordan Cameron forced overtime with two free throws, and Bruce Downey’s layup forced the second overtime.

Bothwell went 7-for-7 from the field with one 3-pointer and hit eight of 10 free throws. Saks’ other top performers:

Christian Smith: 13 points (one 3-pointer).
Christian Hall: 12 points (one 3-pointer).
Joshua Todd: 10 pointers (one 3-pointer).

Donoho’s top performers:

Richard Goad: 25 points.
