Who: The City of Oxford, Keep Oxford Beautiful, and Keep Alabama Beautiful’s Plastic Bottle and Aluminum Can Collection Kick Off
What: The City of Oxford will receive 14 recycling containers to be placed at Choccolocco Park for visitors to recycle plastic bottles and cans as part of a grant won by Keep Alabama Beautiful. The grant was awarded by the American Beverage Association and the Alabama Beverage Association.
Mayor Alton Craft, the Oxford City Council and Keep Oxford Beautiful placed an importance on increasing access to public space recycling as a goal for Oxford while working with Keep Alabama Beautiful to become a certified affiliate of Keep America Beautiful.
The City of Oxford is working with Indorama Ventures regarding marketing the plastic bottles to be recycled.
