Anniston, AL – Regional Medical Center (RMC) recently unveiled the Philips CT 5100 Incisive system, an advanced AI-powered CT scanner that is expected to transform diagnostic imaging for patients across East Alabama. The new addition highlights RMC’s investment in cutting-edge medical technology and its ongoing commitment to patient-centered care.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Tuesday, August 19, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the hospital’s Imaging Department. Hospital leadership, imaging experts, and community members attended the event, which included remarks from RMC President Keith Parrott and Chief Operating Officer Tripp Johnson. Guests also had the opportunity to tour the department and view the new scanner in person.
“This technology is one more way we’re living our mission — bringing tools here so patients don’t have to travel for advanced imaging,” said Keith Parrott, RMC President. “The Incisive CT system brings precision, speed, and a better experience for both patients and providers — all of which are critical in emergency and trauma care when every second matters.”
The Philips CT 5100 Incisive incorporates AI-enabled Smart Workflow, which offers:
-
Faster results with reduced scan times
-
Lower radiation doses without sacrificing image quality
-
Improved patient comfort with a larger, lower table and quicker exams
-
Intelligent automation for greater consistency between scans
-
Patient-side controls to help technologists stay close and support patients
“Whether it’s a trauma patient in the ER or someone coming in for a scheduled scan, this CT allows us to get answers faster, more accurately, and more comfortably,” said Tripp Johnson, RMC COO. “The CT 5100 Incisive allows us to operate with greater efficiency, reduce downtime, and deliver high-quality care. This upgrade is more than just new equipment.”
Designed with emergency and trauma cases in mind, the scanner equips RMC’s teams to quickly diagnose critical conditions and begin treatment without delay.
