Garden Jubilee

ANNISTON, AL — The RMC Foundation will host its annual Garden Jubilee on Saturday, May 31, at the Anniston Country Club, marking ten years of generosity, community spirit, and the continued legacy of the Martha Vandervoort Memorial Scholarship. This year’s theme, “Painting the Town Blue for a Decade of Giving,” sets the tone for an evening of reflection, celebration, and hope for the future.

Guests are invited to attend in their finest blue cocktail attire for a night that will honor both the past and the future. The event will feature a special video presentation highlighting the impact of the Foundation’s work, the announcement of upcoming initiatives, and the official introduction of the newest Martha Vandervoort Memorial Scholar, who will be celebrated as the “Star” of the evening.

Since its inception, the Garden Jubilee has served as a platform to honor the life and legacy of Martha Vandervoort, a beloved Anniston resident and philanthropist. The scholarship established in her memory awards $3,000 annually to a graduating Calhoun County senior who demonstrates leadership, compassion, and a strong commitment to community service.

Over the past decade, the scholarship has supported nine remarkable scholars. Last year’s recipient, Cohen Picton, a graduate of Oxford High School, continues to exemplify the scholarship’s purpose. Now studying nursing at Jacksonville State University while working in the RMC Emergency Room, Cohen’s dedication to both healthcare and community service reflects the heart of the Foundation’s mission.

This year’s Jubilee will also serve as a fundraiser for the Women and Children’s Center at RMC, with proceeds going directly toward expanding care and resources for local families in need.
