Rustic on Main Market

Rustic on Main is a brand new business to the Piedmont and Calhoun County area that is a centralized market for local artisans and vendors. They have vendor shops selling vintage, new, handcrafted, repurposed furniture, clothing and more!

Owner Alison Dugan made time to speak with me about their brand new space and their Grand Opening set for October 23rd!

• Tammy (T): How and when did your business begin?
  
• Alison (A): It started in August this year but it was a journey to get here! I retired in May as a principal from Georgia and my husband and I moved here a year and a half ago to Piedmont. We were looking for a business to open and I’ve always loved antiques and repurposed furniture and boutiques. We kept trying to decide what we wanted to do and there aren’t a lot of vendor markets in the area. We met Kevin and Maggie Cunningham, the owners of the building had the same vision for the building that we did, so it just took off from there and we’ve been remodeling since August and we’re finally ready to open!
• T: Tell me about your location in Piedmont.
• A: We’re located at 105 South Main Street, a lot of people know it as the old hardware building.
• T: What kinds of things do you sell here?
• A: At our market we currently have 19 vendors and we have space for 50, so if you’re interested in being a vendor, we would love to have you join us! We have home goods, home decor, repurposed furniture, antiques, boutique candles, jewelry, signs for all football fans and local areas. We have even partnered with local farmers for fresh pumpkins!  Some of our current vendors include Nances Creek Farms, Oak Grove Designs, Peaceful Porch Candles and Summer Renee Jewelry.
• T: Tell me about your upcoming events!
• A: We will have our Grand Opening on October 23rd from 10am-5pm. The second weekend in November we will be doing a Holiday Open House. We will have the store decorated for Christmas and we will revamp and transition from fall to winter. We’re very excited for these events!

• T: Anything else you’d like to share?
• A: We’re just very excited for it to open soon and we’ve heard a lot of excitement from the community. I’m very fortunate to have a wonderful community that’s been very supportive. We look forward to our partnerships and having life long customers! We hope to see you on October 23rd for the Grand Opening!
