MONTGOMERY, AL — Alabama Secretary of State Wes Allen, in collaboration with the Elections Division, recently completed a series of eight multi-day training sessions for the state’s Boards of Registrars. These sessions, which concluded yesterday, were designed to prepare local election officials for the upcoming 2026 election cycle and underscore the state’s ongoing efforts to uphold election integrity and security.
The trainings were led by Secretary Allen and his Elections Division team and featured interactive, hands-on components, including computer-based instruction provided in a lab setting. The sessions aimed to enhance registrars’ skills and familiarity with Alabama’s statewide voter registration and election management systems.
“I believe these hands-on training sessions are critical to prepare for the 2026 election cycle,” Secretary Allen said. “They featured interactive computer training in a lab setting from Alabama’s statewide voter registration and election management team where Registrars honed their skills and proficiencies.”
Alabama’s Boards of Registrars are responsible for maintaining the state’s voter registration rolls at the county level. Their work includes registering new voters, removing ineligible individuals, and ensuring the voter database is kept accurate in accordance with state and federal laws.
Secretary Allen expressed appreciation for the registrars’ participation and praised their commitment to maintaining the integrity of Alabama’s elections. “The work of Alabama’s Boards of Registrars is essential to the administration of fair, secure, and transparent elections,” he said. “Thank you to each and every Registrar for your attendance at this summer’s trainings and for your dedicated service to your county and the State of Alabama.”
Allen also acknowledged the contributions of Director of Elections Jeff Elrod and Supervisor of Voter Registration Candace Payne for their role in coordinating and leading the training efforts.
