Senator Katie Britt Speaks Against Democrats’ Right to Contraception Act

Senator Katie Britt Blasts Democrat ‘Summer of Scare Tactics,’ Affirms Support for Continued Nationwide Access to Contraception

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.) delivered a speech on the Senate floor this week in advance of Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s scheduled vote on the Democrats’ Right to Contraception Act. The vote is set for Wednesday, June 5.

Senator Britt criticized the Democratic Party’s approach, describing it as part of a “Summer of Scare Tactics.” She argued that this strategy is intended to mislead and confuse voters ahead of the November elections. Britt reiterated her stance that contraception is available nationwide and affirmed her support for continued access to contraception. However, she contended that the current bill undermines religious liberty protections, which she believes should remain bipartisan.

Britt emphasized that the bill is not about addressing genuine issues but is instead a political maneuver by the Democrats to frighten the American public. She expressed concern that such tactics are detrimental to families and women, the very groups the bill purports to support.

The senator also mentioned her ongoing efforts to support women and families through initiatives such as the MOMS Act and the IVF Protection Act. She highlighted the Republican Party’s commitment to these issues and vowed to continue advocating for the rights and freedoms of American families.
