Lincoln, AL — A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Monday, July 8, has resulted in the death of Anthony McCreary, 64, of Lincoln. The incident took place on Interstate 20 near the 166-mile marker, within the city limits of Lincoln, in Talladega County.
McCreary was driving a 2016 Jeep Wrangler 4×4 when the vehicle left the roadway, struck a cable barrier, and overturned. Critically injured in the crash, McCreary was transported to Citizens Baptist Medical Center in Talladega, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The circumstances leading to the crash remain under investigation by Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division. No further information is available at this time.
