Halton City Man Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash Near Oxford

Oxford, AL – A tragic two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 21, has claimed the life of a Halton City, Texas, man.

Byron K. Williams, 60, sustained critical injuries when the 2006 Suzuki Aerio he was driving collided with a 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan operated by Ren Wang, 56, of Hoover. Following the initial impact, the Suzuki left the roadway, struck a sign, overturned, and caught fire.

Application

Williams was transported to the Regional Medical Center in Anniston, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

The crash took place on Interstate 20 near mile marker 184, approximately one mile west of Oxford, in Calhoun County.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division is continuing to investigate the incident. Further details have not yet been released.
