Piedmont, AL – The annual Skirmish at Ladiga will take place from Friday, September 5, through Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Lebanon Campground Church in Piedmont, Alabama. Hosted by Larry Arnold, the event will feature living history activities, reenactments, and community gatherings focused on Civil War history.
The weekend begins Friday at 4:00 p.m. with an Honor Guard ceremony and firing volley at Lebanon Campground Church in remembrance of Civil War soldiers. Local historian Quinton Kirk will also give a presentation about the history of the area. Later that evening, from 8:00–9:00 p.m., visitors can observe a camp skirmish.
On Saturday, activities include a Ladies’ Tea at 11:00 a.m., followed by a large-scale battle reenactment from 2:00–4:00 p.m. depicting a Confederate victory. At 5:00 p.m., there will be a historical demonstration related to military discipline. The evening concludes with another camp skirmish from 8:00–9:00 p.m.
Sunday’s schedule opens with a church service at 9:00 a.m., followed by a trade blanket from 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. The weekend wraps up with a final battle reenactment on Frog Mountain from 2:00–4:00 p.m., where Union forces will be positioned behind barricades.
Throughout the event, both Confederate and Union camps will provide amenities including water stations, wood supplies, and portable restrooms. Vendors will also be on site, with booths available for $20. Admission is $5 for both spectators and reenactors.
The Skirmish at Ladiga is supported by the 3rd Georgia Sharpshooters, with land provided by Coy Deaton. The event emphasizes historical education while offering the public an opportunity to experience reenactments and traditions connected to the Civil War era.
