Anniston, AL – The City of Anniston has announced the appointment of Skyler Bass as Interim City Manager. The decision was made through a unanimous 5-0 vote by the Anniston City Council during their meeting on March 18, 2025. Ms. Bass will officially assume her new role on April 10, 2025, following the retirement of current City Manager Steven D. Folks, Sr.
Ms. Bass has served as the City Clerk since 2018, demonstrating a strong commitment to transparency, efficiency, and integrity in municipal operations. With seven years of dedicated public service, she has played a key role in ensuring the smooth function of city administration. Her leadership throughout this transition period reflects her deep dedication to Anniston’s continued success.
A native of Decatur, Alabama, Ms. Bass is a first-generation college graduate, holding a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration from Jacksonville State University. She is a certified Municipal Clerk and an active member of the Alabama Municipal Clerks and Administrators Association, Alabama Women Leading Government, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
