Anniston Soccer All-State

Anniston, AL – Led by Turley, Donoho’s girls, boys boast eight all-state selections. State coaches chose a total of 33 area players. Four area baseball, softball players selected for North All-Stars.

 

Donoho’s Erin Turley and Lincoln’s Kailey Morgan and Emi Nabors made the overall Alabama soccer coaches all-state team, regardless of classification. All three were first-team selections.

A total of 33 area players made all-state by classification.

Turley and Donoho teammates Anna Kate Wallace, Samantha Wakefield and Rory Parks made the 1A-3A girls’ team. Jacksonville’s Lexi Page, Emerson Weaver, Sarah Sloughy and Emma Easterling made the Class 4A team.

Lincoln’s Valentine Trapani and Gracelyn Tidwell joined Nabors and Morgan on the Class 5A team.

The 1A-3A boys’ team included Donoho’s Bruce Downey on the first team, Glencoe’s Aiden Cornutt and Conner Montgomery and Hokes Bluff’s Allen Cox. The second team included Donoho’s Sam Johnson, Adam Salame and Trey Alexander, Glencoe’s Robert Edgar and Hokes Bluff’s Brayden Fox.

Cherokee County’s Jacob Cornejo and Ben Frampton and Talladega’s Auturo Villanueva Cruz were first-team selections in 4A. Cleburne County’s Noah Morgan and Talladga’s Angel Villanueva Cruz made second team.

Southside’s Camren Thompson, Trey Gardner, Sigurd Elk, Caleb Ogle and Hayes Cosby made first team in 5A, as did Lincoln’s Mason Hill. The second team included Lincoln’s Will Klinner, Andrew Baker and Reed Hemphill.

Cornutt, Cosby and Thompson made the first team regardless of classification. The second team included Gardner and Ogle.

North-South All-Stars

Piedmont’s Brodie Homesley and Oxford’s Nick Richardson were named to the Alabama North All-Star baseball team. Southside’s Jalyn Allen was selected for the North All-Star softball team, and Easterling made the girls’ soccer roster.
