On a day highlighted by Berkley Mooney’s no-hitter and home runs by Mooney, Ashlyn Burns and Emma Tims-Becerra, Oxford won all three games in a tournament at Lincoln, beating Lincoln 11-0, Ashville 8-1 and Munford 4-1.
The Yellow Jackets improved to 14-13.
Mooney struck out 11 batters with one walk in her five-inning no-hitter against Lincoln. She was also one of five Oxford batters with two RBIs apiece, going 1-for-3.
Burns homered against Elkmont and had two RBIs.
Kaelyn Crossley and Reagan Sanders each went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, and Tims-Becerra had a single and two RBIs.
Adajiah Wilson went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Mooney hit a solo homer against Ashville and pitched two perfect innings with five strikeouts.
Tims-Becerra went 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs, and Jayla Jackson hit a double with two RBIs.
Wilson went 3-for-3 with a double and three runs.
Against Munford, Tims-Becerra went 2-for-3 with a solo homer, and Jordyn Alexander had a double, a run and two RBIs.
Mooney pitched one perfect inning in relief with two strikeouts, bringing her total for the day to eight hitless innings.
Crossley allowed six hits and one earned run with one strikeout over four innings. She allowed one run and one hit with two strikeouts in two innings against Ashville.
MUNFORD GOES 1-2: The Lions (17-6-1) went 1-2 at Lincoln, beating Lincoln 9-1 and losing to Oxford 4-1 and Ashville 8-4.
Against Lincoln, Madison Arnold allowed four hits and no earned runs with four strikeouts in four innings.
Addyson Britt had a double with two RBIs, and Kastin Latham had a single with two RBIs.
Arnold went 2-for-3 with a run against Ashville, and Tayla Marlow had a single and RBI. Raleigh Dew drove in a run.
Jena Gaither had a single and RBI against Oxford, and B Pressley hit a double.
PLEASANT VALLEY SPLITS: The Raiders (13-12) split two games with Randolph County at home, falling 3-2 in the opener and winning the nightcap 10-9.
Madyson Cromer’s RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning plated the winning run in the second game. She went 3-for-5 and scored a run.
Lily Henry went 2-for-5 with a home run, two runs and two RBIs, and Alexa Cranmer singled with two RBIs and scored a run.
Gracee Ward had a double and RBI, and Haylie Lee went 2-for-3 with a double and RBI. Lilly Robinson went 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Jordan Cheatwood and Aubree Cromer each had a single and RBI.
For Randolph County (14-5-2), Brantlee Wortham went 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs, and Talee Sims went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs.
Hannah Parmer was 2-for-4 with a run and RBI.
In the first game, Randolph County got out to a 3-0 lead and held off Pleasant Valley’s two-run rally in the seventh inning.
Wortham had an RBI, and Kinsley Weathers and Parmer each had two hits.
Autumn Taylor allowed five hits and two earned runs with two strikeouts in seven innings.
Pleasant Valley’s Ward went 2-for-3 with a double. Cheatwood, Robinson and Cailey Almaroad each had a double, and Almaroad had an RBI.
HANDLEY WINS TWO: Ella Hopper’s two-run double let Handley (15-5) walk it off 5-4 against Auburn, and the Tigers beat Tallassee 8-1 earlier Saturday.
Against Auburn, Ava Hill hit a solo homer and got the win, allowing one hit with five strikeouts in three innings of relief.
Kia Brown had a single and RBI.
Kamlyn Holloway went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs, and Marianna Whaley went 2-for-4 with two runs.
Against Tallassee, Whaley and Hill combined to allow three hits, striking out three batters apiece.
Hill, Whaley and Hopper homered, and Hopper hit a double and finished the game with two RBIs. Holloway had a double and two RBIs, and Brown hit two doubles and scored a run.
