Calhoun County, AL – Otwell homers in White Plains victory. Handley’s Whaley pitched two-hitter against Alexandria. Spring Garden’s McCain pitches one-hitter. Weaver’s Marvasty drives in three runs in victory over Faith.

 

WHITE PLAINS —  Karli Otwell homered and drove in two runs as White Plains beat Jacksonville 10-4 on Monday to improve to 20-10 on the season.

Sara Kate Adams had two doubles, a run and two RBIs. Carli Fritts went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, and Addi Bradley had a double and RBI.

Callie Richardson went 2-for-5 with a double and two runs, and Cooper Martin had a single and an RBI.

Leighton Arnold struck out 13 batters in six innings in the circle. She allowed three hits and two earned runs.

Jacksonville’s Lexi Phillips went 2-for-3 with three RBIs, and L Barnes had an RBI. Ke’Asiah Williams went 2-for-3 with two runs.

HANDLEY 6, ALEXANDRIA 1: Mariana Whaley pitched a two-hitter with four strikeouts, and Handley improved to 16-5.

Ella Hopper led the Tigers at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, a run and four RBIs, and Tayi Goss was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Ava Hill went 3-for-4 with a double and a run.

Alexandria’s Charlee Parris had a single and RBI, and Allyssa Hunt singled.

The Valley Cubs are 22-9-1.

SPRING GARDEN 11, JACKSONVILLE CHRISTIAN 1: Lillian McCain pitched a one-hitter with five strikeouts in six innings as Spring Garden improved to 15-8.

Addie Word went 3-for-4 with a double, a run and two RBIs, and Layla Ingram was 1-for-3 with two RBIs.

Helena Ingram and Olivia Law were each 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and Maggie Reedy was 1-for-3 with two runs and an RBI.

Cali Sexton had JCA’s hit, a single.

WEAVER 15, FAITH CHRISTIAN 0: Peyton Marvasty went 1-for-3 with three RBIs as Weaver improved to 10-6.

Jadyn Smith had a double and an RBI. Kynlee Fulmer had a single, two runs and two RBIs, and Sydney Bitzer scored three runs with two RBIs.

Alana Cooper had a single, three runs and an RBI, and McKennah Homesley had an RBI.

Reyleigh Partner pitched all three innings, allowing two hits with two strikeouts.

Faith’s Anna Kate Roberton and Ella Steward had a single apiece.
