Sojourn Counseling Launches PTSD Awareness Distinctive License Plate Initiative Across Alabama

New PTSD Awareness Distinctive License Plate

Vestavia Hills, AL – Sojourn Counseling, a non-profit practice dedicated to mental health care, has unveiled its latest endeavor: the PTSD Awareness Distinctive License Plate. This initiative aims to raise awareness and support for individuals affected by Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) across all counties in Alabama.

PTSD is a pervasive mental health concern that impacts millions globally, often arising from traumatic experiences like combat, accidents, or abuse. Despite its prevalence, many individuals face stigma and obstacles in accessing necessary support and resources.

The introduction of the PTSD Awareness Distinctive License Plate by Sojourn Counseling seeks to ignite conversations about PTSD, diminish stigma, and cultivate a supportive community for those impacted. The license plate’s unique design serves as a visible symbol of solidarity and understanding for individuals living with PTSD and their families.

Beau Armistead, Director of Sojourn Counseling, highlighted the initiative’s dual purpose: “Not only does the PTSD Awareness Distinctive License Plate raise vital funds for our counseling services, but it also serves as a beacon of hope and understanding for those affected by PTSD. We believe that by bringing this issue to the forefront, we can create a more supportive and compassionate community for individuals living with PTSD, and spread the message that there is hope for healing.”

Proceeds from the sale of the PTSD Awareness Distinctive License Plate will directly support Sojourn Counseling’s mission to offer accessible mental health services throughout Alabama.

“We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to partner with the community in promoting PTSD awareness and supporting those in need,” added Armistead.

Available now through the Alabama Department of Revenue’s Motor Vehicle Division website, the PTSD Awareness Distinctive License Plate enables individuals to showcase their support for PTSD awareness and contribute to positive change in their communities.
