OXFORD, AL – The hotel at 88 Colonial Drive has been reimagined and renovated, now open for business as the new Spark by Hilton. The newly updated hotel offers a friendly, comfortable, and convenient place for visitors to stay while in Oxford. A ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening took place Thursday, March 6, 2025, and was hosted by the Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce.
Spark by Hilton’s central location near shopping centers, dining venues, Choccolocco Park, and the Anniston Army Depot makes it an ideal spot for travelers. Guests can enjoy a complimentary breakfast featuring a loaded bagel bar, a fitness center, a sundry shop, laundry services, and streaming entertainment options. The hotel also offers pet-friendly rooms and a newly renovated courtyard area for relaxation.
Owner Milan Patel, who has been in the Oxford area since 1995, expressed his excitement about the new chapter in the city. “I’ve been in the Oxford area since 1995, and I look forward to being a part of this city for a very long time,” Patel said. “We appreciate all this city has done, and everyone here is like family.”
General Manager Ric Roxlee, who has been with the property for over a decade, oversaw the transition to the new Spark by Hilton brand. “It’s taken several months, but you can see all our rooms are new, and we are excited to now be part of the Hilton brand,” Roxlee shared.
Oxford Mayor Alton Craft praised Patel for his investment in the city and emphasized the importance of the new hotel to the community. “We appreciate Milan bringing his businesses to Oxford,” Craft said. “He has been great to work with, and I know this will be a great success.”
