The Annual Black History Program will be celebrating its 19th year here in Jacksonville.  This year the special guest will be Chief Marcus Wood. The MC of the event will be Marcus Ried, Assistant District Attorney for Etowah County. The youth of the community will participate in many activities and will be the spotlight of the event, per Mrs. Sandra Sudduth of the Jacksonville City Council. The program will be held in honor of Dan Long who was in charge of the young Marines.  The Young Maries will be posting the colors as well. This event will take place Sunday, February 10th, at 2pm at the Jacksonville Community Center.    Following the program there will be a Soul Dinner that is free and open to the public.
