Birmingham, AL – Make this Valentine’s Day special for the young patients at Children’s of Alabama by participating in the free greeting card campaign, running from today through February 14th. Sending a little love is easy – visit give.childrensal.org/valentinesday and choose one of the four charming Valentine’s Day card designs. The selected cards will be printed and personally delivered to the patients by the hospital staff on Valentine’s Day.
“Hospital stays can be challenging for children, especially during festive occasions like Valentine’s Day,” remarked Mindy Wald, Community Development Manager at Children’s of Alabama. “These cards, generously sent by community members, bring smiles to their faces and make their day brighter.”
Sponsored by Spire, a steadfast supporter of Children’s since 2017, the card drive also includes a generous matching donation initiative. Spire pledges to match donations made by contributors during this card drive, doubling the impact of your kindness, with a cap of $5,000.
Joe Hampton, President of Spire Alabama, Mississippi, and Gulf Coast, expressed his enthusiasm for supporting the Valentine’s Day campaign, saying, “I’ve witnessed firsthand the joy the medical play program brings to the patients and families at Children’s of Alabama. That’s why all of us at Spire are excited to once again support this special Valentine’s Day campaign.”
While the hospital is grateful for the community’s generosity, certain items cannot be accepted due to infection control protocols. Please refrain from sending in-person gift donations, handmade cards, food or candy, stuffed animals, toys depicting violence, religious items, crocheted/knit items, and gently used homemade items.
