BIRMINGHAM, AL — This Valentine’s Day, you can help brighten the day for young patients at Children’s of Alabama by sending a free, personalized greeting card. Now through Feb. 14, supporters can participate in this heartwarming initiative and bring smiles to children receiving care at the state’s only freestanding pediatric hospital.
To participate, simply visit childrensal.org/valentines and choose from three music-themed card designs. Hospital staff will distribute the cards to patients on Valentine’s Day, ensuring that every child feels remembered and loved.
Spire, a longtime partner of Children’s of Alabama since 2017, is sponsoring the card drive and will also match donations made during the campaign—up to $5,000—to further support the hospital’s mission.
While spreading cheer through digital cards is encouraged, Children’s of Alabama cannot accept in-person gift donations or handmade items due to infection prevention protocols. Prohibited donations include food, candy, stuffed animals, religious items, crocheted or knitted items, and toys depicting violence.
For those who wish to contribute beyond the Valentine’s card program, additional donation opportunities can be found at childrensal.org/foundation.
Since its founding in 1911, Children’s of Alabama has provided specialized medical care for ill and injured children, offering inpatient, outpatient, and primary care services throughout Central Alabama. Ranked among the nation’s top children’s hospitals by U.S. News & World Report, the private, not-for-profit medical center also serves as the primary teaching hospital for UAB’s pediatric medicine, surgery, psychiatry, research, and residency programs.
This Valentine’s Day, take a moment to make a difference—send a card, spread some love, and help brighten a child’s day at Children’s of Alabama.
