Montgomery, AL – A wide variety of surplus items — including trucks, boats, bicycles, electronics, fitness equipment and office furniture — will be available for bid beginning Saturday as part of the latest online state surplus property auction.
The Surplus Property Division of the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) will host the online auction from 8 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, through 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15. Individuals interested in participating can find information on how to become a qualified bidder at https://adeca.alabama.gov/publicauctions/. Beginning Saturday, all available items will be listed for viewing and bidding at https://www.govdeals.com/alabamasurplus.
The auction will feature property that is no longer needed by state and federal agencies, as well as items voluntarily abandoned at several airports across the Southeast and later acquired by ADECA. All items are sold as-is without guarantees, and all sales are final once the property has been picked up and removed.
Members of the public will have an opportunity to view and inspect available inventory in person at the Surplus Property Division’s Distribution Center, located at 4590 Mobile Highway in Montgomery. Public inspection hours will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, through Friday, Feb. 13. Photos of selected auction items are available online at https://www.flickr.com/photos/adeca/albums/72177720331815322.
ADECA conducts online public surplus auctions periodically throughout the year. In addition to public sales, surplus items remain available year-round to municipal and county governments, state agencies and qualified nonprofit organizations.
Beyond its surplus property program, ADECA administers numerous grant initiatives supporting law enforcement, victim services, economic development, energy conservation, water resource management, broadband expansion and recreational development across Alabama.
