Piedmont, AL – Area firefighters responded to a structure fire at approximately 3:10 on Saturday morning.
Piedmont units arrived at 510 North Centre Avenue in just minutes and began to battle the blaze in a two-story wooden home with mutual aid provided by the Spring Garden Fire Department. The heat from the blaze was so great it was placing the other nearby buildings in danger as well. Water was also sprayed to keep all neighboring structures safe.
At this point heavy flames were visible – fortunately firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control quickly.
Updates will be made as additional information becomes available.
UPDATE: One of the owners of the structure fire reached out to the Calhoun Journal to provide an update that all made it out safely except for their kitten Possible.
