Anniston, AL – Redbird Willow Farm has launched an exciting new summer camp today, offering a unique blend of education and fun for children aged 5-12. Running from July 22nd to July 26th, the camp promises a week filled with engaging activities centered around farm life and animal care.
Camp hours are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and each day starts with a light breakfast to fuel the young campers for the day’s adventures. Each day of the camp is dedicated to learning about a specific animal on the farm, providing a hands-on educational experience.
Highlights of the camp include:
- Bottle Feeding Willie the Wallaby: Campers will have the unique opportunity to bottle-feed a wallaby, fostering a connection with this charming marsupial.
- Petting Kevin the Kangaroo: Kids will get to meet and pet Kevin the Kangaroo, adding an element of excitement to their day.
- Animal Encounters from Bama Bucks: Campers will meet a variety of animals including an alligator, white-tailed deer, a possum, a baby kangaroo, and more, all provided by Bama Bucks.
- Storytime with Aunt Judy: Judy from Snead’s Farmhouse Back-up Dancers will share stories and give each camper a free copy of her book.
- Kids Yoga: A yoga class specially designed for children, promoting physical activity and mindfulness.
- Reptile Show with Anniston Museums and Gardens: Kids will have the chance to pet a snake and learn about reptiles in an interactive show.
- Farm Chores and Crafts: Campers will participate in farm chores, animal care, feeding, knot tying, and farm-themed crafts, interacting with over 100 animals.
The camp will culminate on Friday with a big party, featuring a foam party, pizzas, Capri Suns, and Frios popsicles. Each child will also receive a Redbird Willow Farm summer camp t-shirt, backpack, and other farm-themed swag to commemorate their week of fun and learning.
