The city of Jacksonville is holding the annual Take Pride in Jacksonville Day and volunteers are needed!  The event will be held on Saturday, April 17th.   Volunteers should meet at the City Hall at 8:00 am for cleaning assignments.

The purpose of this event is to work on helping the city stay nice and clean and give the residents a chance to do some spring cleaning of their own. To aide in this the Jacksonville-Piedmont Landfill will be open for FREE drop off from 7:30 am – 11:30 am on this day only.  Items can also be taken to City Hall for recycling, shredding, and trash collection between 8:00 am – 12:00 pm. Items that can be dropped off at City hall include: paint cans, cardboard, paper, plastic, electronics (no monitors or televisions), and aluminum cans. The document shredder is sponsored by RMC Anniston.  All participants are limited to six standard size boxes or bags per vehicle.

This event is sponsored by the Calhoun County Landfill, Calhoun County Commissioners, Jacksonville State University, the City of Jacksonville, Regional Medical Center, and the Keep Alabama Beautiful Program.

To thank all the volunteers the top two groups with the most participants will win $100 each!  Please take advantage of the opportunity to clean out your own homes and to help out your community.
