Talladega Police Investigating Attempted Business Robbery Person Shot

Talladega, AL –  The Talladega Police Department is investigating an Assault and Attempted Robbery and seeks the public’s help in identifying the suspects.

 

On 07/23/2022 at approximately 11:30 pm, Officers with the Talladega Police Department responded to 543 Broadway Ave., Benny’s Convenience Store, on an assault and attempted robbery call. When they arrived, they found a 36-year-old black male, inside the store, that had been shot multiple times. Talladega Police released that the person shot was an employee. There is no update on his condition at this time.

 

Witnesses told officers that a black male entered the store and fired a shot. The victim then began fighting with the suspect and was shot. A second suspect entered the store and attempted to take a cash machine located near the door. The shooting suspect fled in an older model four door compact car with a white bumper. The second suspect fled on foot.

 

As of July 26, 2022, CrimeStoppers was notified of the suspects’ vehicle being located and in the possession of the Talladega Police Department.
