ANNISTON, AL — The Arc of Calhoun and Cleburne Counties will bring its annual Lip Sync Battle Fundraiser back to the community on Saturday, August 29, with an evening of entertainment aimed at supporting programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The event is scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m. at Jacksonville State University’s McClellan location, 100 Gamecock Drive in Anniston.
Organizers describe the Lip Sync Battle as an opportunity for community members to support The Arc while participating in a lighthearted evening of performances. Individuals and groups can become involved as performers, sponsors or audience members.
The fundraiser helps The Arc continue programs serving people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities in Calhoun and Cleburne counties.
The organization has promoted the event as one that puts the “fun” in fundraiser, combining community participation and entertainment with its larger mission of providing programs and support to individuals with disabilities.
Those interested in taking the stage can enter as a performance act, while businesses, organizations and individuals also have opportunities to participate through sponsorships. Community members who prefer to watch the competition can attend as audience members and support the fundraiser.
