GADSDEN, AL — The Cardinal Foundation, a support organization for Gadsden State Community College, has expanded its board of directors with the addition of four accomplished community leaders: Jake Leath, Adrienne Reed, Kyle Reeves, and Jonathan Mosley.
“These new members bring a wealth of experience, community involvement, and professional expertise to the Cardinal Foundation,” said Hillary Folsom, director of Advancement and Alumni Relations. “They will help us achieve our mission to impact the lives of our students, our employees, and our communities.”
Meet the New Board Members
Jake Leath
Leath is the owner of Country Financial, an insurance agency he launched in 2023. His dedication to excellence was recognized when he was named Country Financial’s National Rookie of the Year. A graduate of Etowah High School, Leath was actively involved in student leadership as a member of the Student Government Association at Gadsden State, where he enrolled in 2015. He later earned a degree in Sales and Marketing from the University of Alabama in 2019.
Leath is engaged in community service as a member of the Gadsden Rotary Club and the North Gadsden Community Church. He and his wife, Cecily, are expecting their first child in June.
Adrienne Reed
Reed is a dedicated community activist and an elected member of the Gadsden City Board of Education, where she focuses on enhancing educational opportunities for students. She also serves as a business services representative at the Gadsden Career Center, working to support local youth and families.
A lifelong resident of Etowah County, Reed has contributed to numerous community organizations, including the Etowah Chamber of Commerce and UNITY Church.
Kyle Reeves
Reeves, an alumnus of Etowah High School and Gadsden State, earned an Associate in Science in 2000 before completing a Bachelor of Science in Business Management at Jacksonville State University in 2003. Currently the managing director of Northwestern Mutual in Gadsden, Reeves has achieved distinction in the financial sector, earning a place in the Million Dollar Round Table, which recognizes the top 10 percent of financial advisors worldwide. He has also qualified for Northwestern Mutual’s FORUM, ranking in the top 1 percent of advisors within the company.
Reeves and his wife, Kelli, are parents to two children.
Jonathan Mosley
Mosley, a 1996 graduate of Saks High School, attended Gadsden State in 1997 and 1998 before earning a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Jacksonville State University in 2001. With 24 years of experience in the banking and lending industry, Mosley currently works at Emblem Credit Union.
A longtime resident of Calhoun County, Mosley is actively involved in community organizations, serving on the leadership and production teams at the Church of the Highlands’ Oxford location. He is a member of the Rotary Club and supports organizations such as the Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce, the United Way of East Central Alabama, and the Young Leadership Society. Mosley also serves as board chair for Interfaith Ministries in Anniston and the Risk Management Association. He and his wife, Lindsay, have a daughter.
The four new board members will serve alongside current voting members Melissa Battles, Donny Dunn, Eva Garner, Erin Griffith, David Hooks, Lynn King, Ricky Ray, Scott Shofner, Ray Smith, Tony Smith, Jonathan Tang, and Davis Varner. The Foundation’s officers include Tommie Goggans as president, Maj. Gen. Eric Crabtree as vice president, Bryan Dorsett as treasurer, and Gerri Langley as secretary.
“With the new additions to the board, these dedicated individuals work tirelessly to ensure that the Cardinal Foundation continues its legacy of making a positive impact on the lives of those it serves,” Folsom said. “The Foundation is poised for even greater success in its mission to support our students.”
