Anniston, AL – Join the City of Anniston and Main Street Anniston as they celebrate 140 years of Anniston, Alabama on Saturday, July 1, 2023. Incorporated on July 3, 1883, the city invites the community to join them in Zinn Park as they come together to celebrate the 140th Anniversary of the beloved city. Anniston has long been called “The Model City” (as named by Atlanta newspaperman, Henry W. Grady) due to its careful planning in the late 19th century.
On this day, they will have live music by Edgewood Heavy, inflatables in conjunction with the playground and splash pad for the children to enjoy, a “Touch A Truck” area hosted by the Anniston Police Department and the Anniston Fire Department, food trucks, a “backyard barbecue” competition, and more. This event is from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.
The “backyard barbecue” competition will be between the The Anniston Police Department and the Anniston Fire Department, but as they have another competition cooking they invite the community to join them.
