This week’s Small Business Spotlight is on The Vine Chiropractic in historic downtown Oxford! They offer services such as adjustments, mobility, relief from back pain, and general wellness care.

Bear and Sons

The Vine is run by the husband and wife team of Dr. Ryan Parrish, who does the chiropractic work and Gwen Parrish, who manages the office and makes the patients feel right at home! Their whole staff does an amazing job of making the environment comfortable and relaxing for every patient who comes in the door. Dr. Parrish made the time to speak with me about their business and how they help people live better, pain free lives.

  • Tammy (T): How and when did The Vine Chiropractic begin?
  • Ryan (R): We opened in March of 2019. We were working towards that for a year before that to get the building renovated in downtown Oxford.
  • T: Tell me about your location here in Oxford.
  • R: We have an awesome location in historic downtown Oxford. We love our building, we put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into the building to try to get it renovated to be able to have it function as our office. We love this area and downtown in general. Southern Girl Coffee being right across the street is a little dangerous for us! There are a lot of awesome businesses down here with really cool retail shops and an ice cream shop, so there’s plenty for people to come check out!
  • T: What kind of services do you offer here?
  • R: Our goal at The Vine Chiropractic is to help people reach their full health potential. Obviously we offer chiropractic care to try to help make sure people’s spine stay in line and their systems are working as optimally as they can. Along with that, we also do different diets to make sure that we’re approaching their health from that direction as well.
  • T: Tell me about your training and experience.
  • R: I graduated with my doctor of chiropractic degree in 2013 and I’ve been practicing since then. I spent the first 4 years of my career working under other doctors trying to get experience until I branched off to open my own practice. That’s how we ended up here in Oxford and I opened my own practice so I could do things the way that we need to do them to take care of the patients the best that we possibly can. I’ve explored different areas of pediatric care, as well as maternity care, and nutritional training as well.
  • T: What are some of the common issues you see in your patients?
  • R: Obviously the most common is neck and back pain in patients, but that’s not where it stops. A lot of patients start with those kinds of aches and pains and it branches into migraines, headaches, fatigue, anxiety, gastrointestinal issues. Chiropractic care can help with all kinds of different things.
  • T: Where can people find you online and in person to make an appointment?
  • R: Our website is thevinechiropractic.com to make it real easy for you! You can also call the office, Charlee and Kenzie do a great job of getting people on the schedule. Our office number is 256-624-6065.
  • T: Anything else you’d like to share?
  • R: Our goal is to help people reach their full health potential. Our mission is to be a light in the community for God’s Kingdom and for health, and we hope we’re achieving that goal. Our purpose every single day is to take care of The Vine Chiropractic family as much as we possibly can.

I hope you have enjoyed this Small Business Spotlight. I’ll be back next week with another local Calhoun County business.
