Ohatchee became the second Calhoun County girls team this week to almost pitch a basketball shutout when the Lady Indians overwhelmed Wellborn 64-2.

The Lady Panthers scored a basket in the first quarter by Anna Odom.

Freshman Lindsey Zurchin hit five 3-pointers and was Ohatchee’s leading scorer with 15 points. Jorda Crook had 13 and eighth-grader Tabitha Davidson had 10.

“I was really pleased with how our young girls played,” Ohatchee coach Bryant Ginn said. 

Anniston nearly shut out Munford earlier this week 63-2. Munford’s only points in that game came on a basket midway through the third quarter.   [**read more]
