Jacksonville, AL – The JSU Information Technology Department released the new policy stating that to remain consistent with the intent and spirit of the ban issued by Governor Kay Ivy, effective immediately, the university has blocked all TikTok traffic on its administrative and wireless networks. Concerns surrounding the TikTok software application stem from the company’s acknowledgment of its data collection practices that create a potential privacy and security threat. Going forward, users will have to utilize their personal data service in order to access the TikTok application on JSU campuses and locations. The approach being taken by Jacksonville State University is similar to several other state universities.
