Oxford, AL – The new TownePlace Suites by Marriott, located at 267 Hospitality Way near Publix, is officially open and ready to welcome visitors to the Oxford area. The hotel, owned and operated by RAM Hotels, celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, June 7.
The 104-room hotel is designed for extended stays, offering amenities such as full kitchens, complimentary hot breakfasts, and free Wi-Fi. Construction of the hotel began in April 2022, and its opening marks a significant addition to Oxford’s hospitality offerings.
“This one is special,” said Mitesh Patel, COO and co-founder of RAM Hotels. He praised the swift action and support from Oxford’s city officials, particularly Mayor Alton Craft, in addressing issues to ensure the hotel opened in time for the Talladega race. “The support we have gotten from everybody in this community has been incredible. We opened in April and captured a 100 percent market share in May.”
RAM Hotels CEO and co-founder Rinkesh Patel echoed the sentiment of gratitude towards the city of Oxford, emphasizing the company’s commitment to investing in smaller communities. He also thanked the Muscogee (Creek) Nation and the Alabama State Historical Commission for their special participation in making the project a reality. “The big corporations don’t want to go to small town America,” Patel said. “We love it. RAM wants to go there and we will be there.”
Mayor Craft, council member Mike Henderson, and state Senator Keith Kelley were present to officially welcome the new hotel. Craft recalled early conversations with Rinkesh Patel about the future of Oxford and the hotel industry. “He has kept his word,” Craft said, expressing optimism about the partnership between the city and RAM Hotels. “I hope they will build many more hotels here.”
