Oxford, AL – In a incident that unfolded around 2:05 a.m. on Saturday, December 16, a two-vehicle crash near Oxford has left two individuals dead. The victims have been identified as the driver, Anthony A. Finley, 58, and passenger, Kimberly H. Finley, 59, both residents of Heflin.
The fatal collision occurred when a 2002 Toyota Sienna, occupied by the Finleys, was struck by a 2016 Ford Mustang driven by Dustin T. Cleckler, 30, of Thorsby. Following the initial impact, the Toyota veered off the roadway, collided with an embankment, and struck multiple trees before ultimately overturning.
Anthony A. Finley and Kimberly H. Finley succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene. The extent of the injuries sustained by Mr. Cleckler is yet to be disclosed.
The crash site was located on Interstate 20 near Alabama 281, approximately three miles east of the Oxford City Limits, within Calhoun County. The proximity to Oxford has heightened the impact of this tragic incident on the local community.
