TUESDAY’S GAMES
Alexandria 12, St. Clair County 2: Ashley Phillips homered, tripled and drove in five runs, Rylee Gattis went 4-for-5 with three RBIs and struck out 12 in the circle, and the Lady Cubs erupted for eight runs in the first inning. The top three hitters in the Alexandria lineup – Jill Cockrell, Phillips and Gattis – were a combined 9-for-13 with nine RBIs.
Jacksonville Christian 9, Gaylesville 4: Rebecca Carter hit three-run homer in the third inning when JCA took the lead for good, Kara Grace had three hits and Krymson Clay pitched a complete game. Clay gave up five hits and struck out six.
Southside 12, Oxford 2: The Lady Panthers sent 15 batters to the plate in the first inning and scored 10 runs. Abbie Mitchell drove home both of Oxford’s runs with a fourth-inning double.
White Plains 2, Cherokee County 0: Leighton Arnold pitched a complete-game three-hit shutout and Callie Richardson hit a solo homer among her three hits. Hallie Williams went 2-for-2 for the Lady Wildcats. [*** read more]
