Anniston, AL – The Anniston Police Department has issued an arrest update in regards to the recent shooting that resulted in the deaths of two people.
On March 27th, 2023, the Anniston Police Department Investigative Division in conjunction with the Calhoun County Major Crimes Unit effected two arrests in the deaths of Ricky Ward, Jr. and Laura Thornton. Ronnie Lee King, 67, was arrested and charged with Hindering Prosecution. Randy Wayne King, 42, was arrested and charged with one count of Murder (both are pictured below). The is still a continued investigation and more charges are likely. UPDATE: After continued work by the Investigative Division, a second warrant for murder was obtained on Randy King (42). Early this afternoon (3/29/2023), warrant officers served the warrant on King at the Calhoun County Jail. King is now facing two counts of murder in connection with the deaths of Laura Thornton and Richard (Ricky) Ward Jr.
